EN Engineering Acquires Wheatland Systems, Inc.
May 19, 2010
Acquisition of Wheatland Systems, Inc., a company with a 50 person professional staff specializing in software development and control system integration for the natural gas, liquid pipeline, electric and processing/manufacturing industries. The transaction closed on May 14, 2010.
Based in Lawrence, Kansas, Wheatland strengthens EN Engineering’s service offerings in software development, control system design, and commissioning. To customers of Wheatland Systems,
EN Engineering offers an expanded range of engineering analysis and design, and project management support services.
“Wheatland’s capabilities and end markets are highly complementary with those of EN Engineering’s,” noted Joe Posewick, CEO of EN Engineering. “This acquisition allows us to offer a comprehensive range of automation services with deeper and broader resources, while providing new business opportunities for both companies.”
Wheatland will operate as a separate EN Engineering business unit, working closely with EN Engineering’s Automation & Electrical Design group. Wheatland’s founder, David Miles, will continue to oversee Wheatland’s operations.
EN Engineering, which is based in Woodridge, Illinois and has an office in the Baltimore, Maryland area, performs engineering and consulting services for major natural gas transmission, distribution, and liquid pipeline companies. The company was acquired by Clearview Capital, LLC in April 2009.
