We have design standards that have been developed over decades of design and operating experience at various pipeline companies. From our roots at Kinder Morgan we brought with us the design manual from NGPL which has been constantly expanded and improved as we worked with various oil and gas pipeline companies and hired the best employees in the industry, most with extensive experience at pipeline companies. We have also developed a set of material specifications through the same process of experience-based improvements. These material specifications and design standards allow us to design facilities that are superior to many of the facilities designed by our competitors at the same or lower cost.
We understand the importance of detailed planning and preliminary design during the early stages of a project to ensure the project is designed correctly the first time. When the preliminary design is complete, our detailed design services implement a project approach that ensures success for the project. Our detailed design services include the following tasks:
Review of design options and configurations to confirm preliminary design recommendations.
Detailed engineering of all required facilities and equipment.
Detailed engineering drawings for each phase, including the construction bid set and approved for construction drawing set.
Preparation of detailed project records and job books to record the design assumptions and design calculations.
Preparation of ENE material specifications for engineered materials and equipment such as compressors, pumps, filter separators, coalescers, coolers, etc.
ENE material specifications for typical non-engineered equipment such as pipe, valves, fittings, etc. These specifications often slightly exceed industry specifications which allow us to obtain higher quality materials for the same pricing as items purchased with standard industry specifications.
Flow modeling and hydraulic modeling if needed.
Metallurgical and welding consultation if needed.
Engineering assistance during construction if needed.
Automation/controls/SCADA system design and programming if needed.
Preparation of as-built drawings.
