FAILURE INVESTIGATION

EN Engineering’s Metallurgy group performs detailed field and laboratory investigations.

Examples include:

Examinations of pressure test
Operational leaks or rupture failures on line pipe and other pipeline components damaged by third
  party excavation
Corrosion
Other threats

Our team has over 40 years of pipeline metallurgy and stress analysis expertise. We have conducted investigations involving fracture, fatigue, environmental assisted cracking, sour gas service, vintage pipe defects, weld anomalies, hydrogen cracking, and litigation cases.

EN Engineering’s focus is to determine the root cause of the failure and provide practical solutions for mitigation. The metallurgy staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to travel on-site to pipeline facilities to lead investigations, identify defects and offer interpretation of the severity and repair options, and assist with fitness-for-service evaluations. Components can also be shipped to EN Engineering for analysis and testing.
